Here are a few photos from my recent trip to France & Italy. I travelled on the road from northern France all the way down through central and then to a beautiful little village in the southern mountains called Grimaud where I stayed for a few days. I then made my way by train from there to Milan and eventually to Florence, where I stayed for nine days, then caught another train to Pisa, and made my way back home from there. I saw some amazing sights and met some inspirational and fascinating people. I’m envious of the lifestyle, especially in Grimaud - 20 minutes from St. Tropez, three weekly markets with fresh from the ground produce, wonderful sunshine, beautiful scenery everywhere you look and a buzzing community atmosphere where everybody knows everybody. I really enjoyed the three weeks over there though, and took home some great memories.
One of the photos from my contact sheet printed. Taken in Clifton, developed by myself and shot on black and white 400 ISO film.
A contact sheet of some black and white film photos I took in the Leigh Woods/Clifton area. I plan on getting them all printed shortly.
A response to a 50 photos brief, the brief asked to present our photos in a creative way, so I chose to make a book.
The book includes 16 photos out of 50 that I took, twelve of which are prints that were developed successfully with bold colours and the right exposure, and the remaining four are prints that turned out not as i’d hoped and over exposed. I took all of the photos using a disposable camera, so the idea behind it is to show the nature of the camera and the lack of control you have when using one.
The book is hand bound and the ‘16’ on the cover is debossed by hand. I’ve used a thicker grey card for the cover and newsprint paper for the content.
