This was a welcome distraction today from my dissertation. Painted some lettering onto four A boards for a group project. 

My latest project working with The Bristol Hippodrome and The Gallimaufry (who, fyi, now have a lovely new website so check that out!) 

It’s the 100th birthday of The Bristol Hippodrome this year so they’re throwing an Edwardian themed exclusive dinner event to celebrate, and asked The Gallimaufry to cater for it, therefore I found myself very fortunately being asked to design the menu for said event. 

This menu design blends together hand drawn Ewardian styled typography, elements of the Hippodrome’s exclusive dinner invitation, as well as signature Gallimaufry colours and style of their own menu.

Drawing some type for a current freelance project

I’ve recently started working for lovely Bristol bar/restaurant, The Gallimaufry as their retainer designer, which is very exciting to have such a nice client who I get to produce work for regularly. This is my first designey job with them - flyer design for an event they’re hosting in association with Bristol Pound.

I finished making this book today, all ready for my deadline in 4 days. It’s based on the theme ‘testing’ and so I’ve been testing my dreams for several weeks, by doing various activities to see how they take affect on my dreams, I scribbled the results in a dream diary and then made the whole experiment into this very book! It’s full of hand drawn type, humorous illustrations, pastel colours, gatefolds, french folds, nice paper, and an insight into a weird but wonderful world that is brought to life in dreams. Took me forever to bind it (Japanese stab bind) through the layers of thick paper and making sure to miss the gatefolds, but heeeere it is:

It really makes me happy that all of these people liked my ‘U’ drawing.

A sneak peek at a spread from a book-in-process for a project I’m currently working on. It’s a testing project which involves me carrying out different processes to affect my dreams. I’m recording the results in a dream diary then transferring them into a more organised fashion. Headings are hand drawn.
